Eileen Pembridge becomes the first woman to stand for the presidency of the Law Society of England & Wales.

Eileen qualified as a solicitor in 1975 and co-founded the firm Fisher Meredith. While at the firm, she campaigned for new domestic violence legislation, which was passed in 1976.
