Lindsay Scott is the Chief Executive for Matrix Chambers. She is responsible for the overall management of Matrix, including the development of client relationships, marketing strategy, human resources, and ensuring our core values inform how we work as an organisation.
Lindsay has been with Matrix since 2006 and was previously a solicitor.
From an early age Millicent knew that she wanted to work in the legal profession and entered the profession as a legal secretary in a firm in King’s Bench Walk, Temple, with the intention of qualifying as a Legal Executive, as it was an ILEX requirement (now known as the Chartered Legal Executives (CILEx)) at the time for students to be working in a legal practice.
Millicent qualified as an Associate of the institute in 1978 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute in 1991, studying at evening classes and by distance learning to complete her qualification. In the intervening years she gained fee earning experience in many areas of law, in particular debt collection, insolvency and commercial litigation.
Millicent has worked as a chartered legal executive in the private, corporate in house and public sectors. The majority of work as a chartered legal executive in the private and corporate in house sectors was commercial litigation and contract work in the financial sector.
Millicent is now Vice-President of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), soon to be promoted to President.
Christina is Deputy Vice President of The Law Society. She will succeed as Vice President in July 2017 and President in July 2018, making her only the fifth woman to hold the chain of office in what will be, by then, the society’s 193-year history. She is concurrently Director of Innovation at Cripps LLP.
Reena founded RSG Consulting in 2001 to provide research and consultancy to law firms and in-house counsel. With over 20 years experience of business and the City, she is known as one of the leading analysts of the legal profession.
As editor and publishing director of Chambers & Partners Publishing in the mid-nineties, she devised the research methodology behind the Chambers’ guides to the legal profession and launched the first Chambers Student and Chambers Global guides.
Georgina Stanley is the editor of Legal Week. She joined the magazine in October 2005 and has since written news, analysis and commentary about a range of leading UK and international commercial law firms, as well as trends in the profession. Before joining Legal Week she worked at several business titles, starting her journalism career at Euromoney.
Catrin is the editor of The Lawyer.
Kim is a Senior Partner at Westlake Bell. Kim’s practice covers all areas of commercial property, with a particular expertise in development work. She has both commercial property and property finance experience, and is also Head of the India Group (she is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, written and spoken). Kim’s client base includes well known housebuilders and healthcare providers, whom she advises in relation to property acquisition, development and disposal. Clients include CALA Homes, Dandara, City & Country, London and Regional, BUPA and Spire. She has advised on the acquisition and disposal (including disposal strategy and advice given throughout the development stages in relation to issues arising) of residential and mixed use developments, with development values exceeding £300m in some cases.
Emma is the Global Head of Strategy, Legal at Deutsche Bank.
Lucy is Global General Counsel, heading up Funding Circle’s legal function as well as UK compliance. Lucy was one of the founder members of Kemp Little LLP, a technology focused City law firm, where as head of corporate she worked on M&A, equity and debt financing for financial services and fintech companies. She was managing partner of Kemp Little from 2009 to 2011 when she became Wonga’s first General Counsel and built up the company’s international legal team, before joining Funding Circle in 2014.
Fiona Dormandy is the General Council for AirBnB, having previously held the position at Betfair.
Withers LLP is the firm where Margaret made Managing Partner in 2007. She had made partner in 1990.
Joined Severn Trent as General Counsel and Company Secretary in June 2011. Bronagh is a solicitor and was previously Group Company Secretary and General Counsel at Mitchells & Butlers, where she worked for 15 years. Prior to that, she was a Senior Associate at Allen & Overy.
Deborah joined Travis Perkins plc in 2014 as Company Secretary and General Counsel. Prior to joining Travis Perkins plc Deborah worked at Lafarge Group both in the UK and France as Company Secretary and General Counsel. Deborah also held other senior secretarial positions at BOC Group, British Coal Corporation, Nokia and Royal Mail.
Hilka is a Member of the Group Executive Committee and Group Director Legal, Compliance & Board Office of TUI Group. She joined TUI AG in March 2014 as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Group Legal and Governance, Risk & Compliance. Since July 2014 she also heads the Board office of the company as Company Secretary. She started her professional career at the renowned international law firm Clifford Chance in 2000. She worked in Corporate Finance, offering consultation services to international corporations in M&A transactions.
Ritva Sotamaa joined Unilever in 2013 as Chief Legal Officer. As member of Unilever’s Leadership Executive, she is responsible for Unilever’s Legal, Intellectual Property and Business Integrity functions. Ritva has spent most of her career in the healthcare industry. She joined Unilever from Siemens AG, where she was General Counsel for the global Healthcare business since 2009, based in Germany. Between 2003 and 2009 Ritva held several global General Counsel roles at General Electric Company – GE Healthcare, mostly based in Wisconsin, USA.
Rosemary Martin was appointed group general counsel and company secretary of Vodafone in March 2010. She previously served as CEO of the Practical Law Group, having spent 11 years with Reuters Group Plc with the last five years as group general counsel and company secretary.
Vanessa was appointed General Counsel of Wolseley UK in March 2013, and is responsible for legal and company secretarial matters. Vanessa is an experienced lawyer, and has worked in both private practice and in-house.
Andrea is the Group Chief Counsel at WPP where she has worked since September 1996.

Alison was appointed General Counsel and Company Secretary of Amec Foster Wheeler on 1 December 2012. Immediately prior to joining the company she was Company Secretary and General Legal Counsel of Hays plc. She is a solicitor and has more than 20 years’ experience as a senior lawyer in industry.
Rachel is Group General Counsel for LV=, a Mutual financial services company and the fourth largest motor insurer in the UK. Rachel is responsible for the Group’s entire legal function which combined with company secretariat, comprises a team of twelve. Rachel started her career in the City working in corporate finance and then requalified as a solicitor. Rachel was formerly a partner in private practice of the regional firm, Lester Aldridge, prior to moving in-house in 2007.
Tamara is the Managing Partner – Europe & Middle East and the head of Structured Finance at Reed Smith. She is the former chair of the firm’s Financial Industry Group.
Funke Abimbola is the general counsel and company secretary for Roche UK.
