‘In Conversation’: How Can Innovation and Diversity Shape the Legal Profession?

26th August 2015

First 100 Years is pleased to announce the launch of In Conversation – a series of events which explore the current status of women in professions, through the lens of past experiences and individual journeys.

Starting the series off on 30th September is How Can Innovation and Diversity Shape the Legal Profession?, with Dame Janet Gaymer (DBE, QC) and Rosemary Martin (Group General Counsel & Company Secretary of Vodafone Group PLC).

In Conversation seeks to highlight, explore and celebrate the challenges and progress women from a myriad of professions have had to face and confront on their career journeys. The event will honour pioneering women, who have paved the way for both personal successes and future generations of women, particularly in professions where gender inequality is still a real issue.

The list of commendations and awards are endless – 2010 saw the esteemed Dame Janet receive The International Alliance of Women “100 World of Difference Award” for her public serving in promoting the economic empowerment of women. In the same year, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of her public service.
