From 16th January 2018 to 13th January 2019, visitors to The Foundling Museum will be able to see ‘First Among Equals’, where remarkable women who have shaped contemporary British society choose have chosen objects from the Museum’s Collection that speak to them.
The selections will enable visitors to see the Collection from different perspectives, and to reflect on women’s ongoing struggle for equality. Contributors include Baroness Hale of Richmond (first female President of the Supreme Court); Frances O’Grady (first female General Secretary of the TUC); Moira Cameron (first female ‘Beefeater’, Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London) and Maria Balshaw (first female Director of Tate).
